About Us

Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur Global Venture Lab has been designed for Global Solution of local problems, in a community approach shared between Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (India), University of California Berkeley (USA) and University of Jyvaskyla of University Alliance Finland.
The foundation of the GVL was laid under the stewardship of eminent professors from three collaborating Universities, Prof. Dhrubes Biswas of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (India), Prof. Ikhlaq Siddhu of University of California Berkeley (USA) and Prof. Marko Seppa of Jyvaskyla and who established Global Venture Lab Network in 2008. This is a university based growth venturing platform, combining practice & academic aspects of ‘Entrepreneurship for Business Creation’. This will transform innovations, both service & product into Global businesses out of solving local problems in the domain of Energy, Education, Environment & Health.
New instruments will be invested into new firms, with judicious mix of Financial and Knowledge components will be Coentrepreneured for rapid venture creation across the Global Venture Lab network.
GVL's Vision
Our Vision is to be a preferred lab for young and experienced entrepreneurs by providing them access to competitive resources (capital, knowledge, innovation, technology & manpower) across the globe through our GVL networking centers.

- We believe that the focus on the education specifically on R & D of technologies could promote sustainable development that is rooted in meaningful symbiotic systems and could have positive implications for the collaborating nations as well.
